This is the story of how my son’s special needs opened the door to a world of entrepreneurship - and sensory toys made by us.
In 2009 I gave birth to my first son, Jakob. Early on his behavior and his social skills were different from other children his age. He would align his toys in patterns, and he found it difficult to communicate with other children.
My son is diagnosed with autism, ADHD, and anxiety
In 2016 Jakob was diagnosed with autism, ADHD, and anxiety. But in the beginning, I had no idea what to do and I was desperate to help him. You can read the whole story here.
Founded by a professional designer guided by motherly intuition
Researching the diagnoses and understanding the ways my son sees the world helped me understand how I could help him.
Based on my product design background and guided by motherly intuition I created the sensory toy for Jakob. Based on his needs and with respect for a child’s need to play and have fun.
And this is the foundation we design all our products on.
Aids designed to look like toys
Talking to professionals and parents struggling with similar issues I realized a need for sensory products that help children with special needs like anxiety, hyperactivity, and sensory overload. But not products that look like institutional aids, but aids that look like toys.
In collaboration with specialists & children
The toys are designed and developed in collaboration with specialists such as occupational therapists and with children to ensure they meet both scientific requirements and inspire children to engage with them. And so children do not feel ashamed by having them in their everyday lives.
Designed with respect for children
Often diagnoses and special needs are stigmatized, but it is our goal is to empower different in any shape and form. And we try to do so by creating sensory toys based on the way children see the world, understanding the challenges of their special needs and respecting their need to play and have fun.

When it comes to sensory toys and weighted toys for children with special needs there are no one size fits all.
There are different symptoms and different solutions. That’s why we work closely together with both professional specialist, talk to parents and develop our products in collaboration with the children they are intended for.
How sensory toys can help your child
All children develop their senses as they grow from newborn to infant to toddler and so on. For children with special needs their senses often remain unorganised and this can generate frustration, unhappines and often upredictable behavoir.
The link between cognitive behavior and sensory stimulation from early age has proven to be crucial for children’s further development. That is why we collaborate with experts and occupational therapists to continuously improve our special needs toys for kids with autism, ADHD and anxiety.
Many children with autism, ADHD and anxiety struggle with hyperactivity, meltdowns, and sensory processing.
A way to help your child and help them to self-regulate, is to apply deep pressure therapy and sensory simulation.
The weight has a calming effect, and the texture of the materials helps stimulate the senses in a soothing way. The calming weight will help your child cope and support and overall, less anxious mind.

Organic materials and Eco-friendly mindset
We believe in producing natural toys that improve the sensory skills and imagination of children, without compromising environmental impact or sustainable production.
Outside materials: We use only organic cotton for the knitted outer material.
Inner materials: All of our toys are filled organic buckwheat hulls, which replaces the usual synthetic stuffing corporate toy brands use.
